Artificial grass fitting service
We also offer professional fitting service prices start from £25 a square metre when a prepared base has already been done and £40 per square meter if we need to dig out. Unlike many competitors, we always put down a crushed hardcore and then a screed of sharp sand followed by a weed membrane, for that extra reassurance. The grass is laid using a timber framework underneath which the grass is attached to. We only use tanalised timber which is designed for contact with the ground. After installation, we then power-brush the artificial grass to stand the pile up. Our grass does not need a sand infill over the top to make the pile stand up.
We are more than happy to supply the artificial grass for DIY fitting or to professionals.
Artificial grass information
Artificial grass comes in 2m and 4m widths and we also sell the joining tape and adhesives. A 10m roll of joining tape is £10 and the adhesive is £9 a tube. Our adhesive has a life expectancy of 25 years and is fungal resistant as well as being resilient to cleaning chemicals.
Artificial grass is ideal when you have pets too as it is really easy to clean up after them and a quick hose down with a bit of artificial grass disinfectant and the grass is good to go. The grass has drainage holes and when laid correctly will drain freely.
Like carpet, artificial grass has to be laid in the correct direction. Usually that means the pile of the grass faces the optimum view point, normally facing the house.
Artificial grass does need the pile brushing up from time to time to make it look it’s best. The frequency of this depends on the amount of traffic that your lawn gets and once a year it would be a good idea to get a professional in to power-brush it.
